That makes sense, in a way that if that information leaked out into the world of gw, everyone would just have stacks of ecto's, ambraces and way to expensive minipets, weapons. Therefore killing the game for what it is.

And they don't want outsiders to do that.. They want to do it themselves.

Topic-wise:

I'm doing Urgoz with a bunch of friends right now, and we're having lag issues. We had to take a break because everyone had over 1k average lag, and I hit 23k. Someone d/c'ed, and another had to reboot. I was kicked outta my district after the 1PM Atlantic Time event (I had AFKed) and my friends reported the same. Some missed their hats.

I've got a Macbook Pro running Windows on Bootcamp... it runs GW well, can handle Oblivion decently. My internet connection is DSL.

My brother's computer uses integrated graphics and he was lagging just as bad as me, but he had FPS lag as well. Both of us were lagging like crazy... 7k ping average.

Later in the day I was on ventrilo.. we were getting incredible lag, but my ping on ventrilo was about 120. The whole district was saying they were lagging.

You might just be lucky but a lot of us have been getting bad, bad lag.

I just tried again for the last time, to see if the lag had gone, but no :-(
I was in Lions arch to show a friend about the hats and the lag started -_-
We went to Kamadan, and sure enough the lag was there to 28k ping it hink was its highest peak that time -_-

Lions arch i was in America dis 11 if i recall, standing on the grenth rings.
Then in kamadan Europe dis 50 or around that (seeing if the lagg in Europe was better) but sadly no -_-

My pc is something like:
Amd athlon 64 3200+
Sapphire ATI card 1550 512mb i think ( i know its 512mb memory)
1gb of ram
200gb HDD
10mb broadband connection.

I even got kicked out with code 40's and also had a gw error which asked if i wanted to send reports (which i did)

-_- all in all, it has never been this bad, even the dragon festival wasnt this bad!

Well when gw eventually dies out, there will be a offline patch for the hardcore players, myself included, to play on their own servers, and then you can do whatever you want to.

(i do want that patch some day, got over 300 euros worth of collectors editions and pre release packs that i WONT throw in the bin)

Yes, 1st and second event in Lions Arch then 4th

Was the loss from the event you had just attended?
Yes the 2nd one 1st was was laggy but I kept all my items

What did you lose?
CC shards Hat and 3 presents I managed to pic up before I got a 007 also 1 candy Wand I had just got in exchange a few min before the
Gods started taling.

What territory and district were you in?
Lions Arch europe 4
Were you present, or AFKing?
Present

Did you leave immediately after the hat was given? If you stayed for a while after the hat was given, for approximately how long did you stay?
Was booted by error 007

Did you put the hat on, or just see it in your inventory?
Saw in inventory

(And I assume you did verify it was in the inventory?)
Yes I saw it in my inventory the same as the 3 presents

Whan I tried to login I couldn't but after a while I could and then discovered the items missing

Managed to get the hat again on the 4th event and kept all items
But for some reason The char that got the hats it will NOT show up on the eles head even if it gets replaced in inventory?
Weird that I cant see it there.

wait, they cant add a hat in an inventory, but you can spawn stupid minis with one command

(btw, remove those things from outposts during events like this)

You would still have lag, plus there can't be more then 20 (Limit) that can be out in the same place anyways.

Despite my Guildies complaining about lag, the 4 events i attended were lag free for myself. Each of which i was in a crowded district. I saw people shouting "OMG PUT MINI'S AWAY!!" but had green ping and 30+ FPS apart from a split second lag spike when i jumped

Feel bad for those whose event was ruined by lag though...

Last event was nearly lag-free! I even ran some presents while waiting for mine to drop, and camped an out-of-the-way AFKer.

Nice way to end the event. G'night all, and happy new year!

The Hats suck the lag blows, and I call bs.

Anet / GW developers FAIL

I'm done..nothing left for me in this game time to move on, and no I wont buy the new game.

ANET fails at events.
I got rolled back after getting disconnected in a grenth district in Kamadan. Lost the hat and all the presents/CCS.

Well at least guildie kept the tormeted I traded to him, and I also got it back on me from the rollback. TY anet ^^ However was smart enough to trade valuables (with guildies/second accounts) in districts known to crash got a dupes factory.

I am on high speed cable and did not used to get lag, never saw anything but green, usually in the 50-60's. However since they changed service providers some months back I get frequent lag "orange/red" and it was particularly bad during the events.

I think their service providers need to spend all that money they are making on providing bandwidth for GW on upgrades big time.

Kamadan was a bit laggy in the morning, but not nearly as bad as LA.

Husband and I were in LA yesterday afternoon for the festivities. As soon as the presents starting dropping, lag reared its ugly head. Avg. ping was around 13k - and it seemed most others were reporting roughly the same.

A couple friends and I were in Sanctum Cay (one needed the bonus for the title) last night. We had taken a break for supper, etc., and were getting ready to snatch that bonus when I was suddenly disconnected. At re-login, it threw my 'toon back to Droknar's ..... a post she hadn't been in over an hour! I rebooted my game completely and when it allowed me to get through the login process, I was always back in Droks. And I couldn't even load a map most attempts. (Our connection was fine - DSL - another computer was having no trouble doing other stuff online.)

Perplexed, I looked at the clock. Sure enough, it was about the time presents would've started dropping in LA. I simply shut my game down.

About 20 minutes or so later, I rebooted the game to find my ranger back in Sanctum (where she should've been all along) and we clenched the bonus for my friend.

You'd think that with as many events and reports of lag at such events in the past two years plus, something would be done to help aleviate the problem!

I also experienced the lag issues. However, I patiently waited it out and received all of my presents' and a few hats( I attended each event all day). I enjoyed the fact that we even had a Wintersday at all.... I thoroughly enjoy all of the events' and festivals'..... and look forward to many more. Thank you.

I'm sorry to say Anet, but this event sucked big time due to unplayable lags. I don't know what's the cause of it but that's not my job. I don't have any missing hats to report, I'm one of the 'lucky' ones I guess.
